Louise Nevelson

I rebranded the exhibit identity for Louise Nevelson’s Dawn’s Forest sculpture series at Artis—Naples. The dark green and white color scheme reflects the stark contrast of the white sculptures against the distinctive green marble floors. I created vector shapes directly based on the shapes found in Nevelson’s sculptures.

The shapes became a flexible kit of parts that could be rearranged in numerous configurations. I chose the typeface Space Grotesk because its geometric qualities evoke Nevelson’s structures, and I created a set of design guidelines.

Then, I designed a set of exhibition posters within the guidelines. I also created sticker sheets that could be sold in the museum gift shop or used in educational programs for children to arrange their own versions of Dawn’s Forest.

I conceptualized an interactive website for the exhibit. Each time the page loads, a new set of shapes appears, which the user can arrange into their own configuration.
